Welcome back, Richest fans! Shortly, the Summer Olympics will once again grace our screens. After everything that happened in 2020, the Tokyo games are set to go ahead after being delayed for a year. And Team USA will be hungry to beat their medal tally from Rio de Janeiro 2016. But how much is the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) spending to fund their athletes? Well, that just happens to be the question we’re examining today. We’ll even compare the figures to other select nations across the globe. On top of that, we’ll explore the massive fees that athletes have to endure and the financial struggles along the way.
Now for the spoiler paragraph. If you like surprises, we suggest you stop reading and watch the video multiple times. Firstly, we’ll explore how much cash U.S athletes can get depending on what colour medal they receive at the Olympics. As well as the tax they used to have to pay. We then jump into the various costs for the athletes. Much of which is left to the Olympian to pay for out of their own pocket. We then see how the delay of Tokyo 2020 greatly affected both Japan and the U.S financially. We’ll take a gander at Australia and the cash they’re funnelling for their Olympic ambitions. We’ll also see Team G.B and their funding for the games. As well as how much their athletes get in grants. Finally, we briefly look at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and the possible problems for Greece as a result.
